Joyce Meyer is a great Christian author and I love listening to her speak and read her books. The subtitle of this book is Winning the Battle in Your Mind. Isn't that a catcher? Yes, this book is really an eye-opener for me. I am going to try to share with you how this book is changing my life.
Of course, the Lord is the only One that can read our minds but Satan has the ability to put negative and bad thoughts into our minds. Satan does not want us to think positive and good and true thoughts, he wants to instill in our minds netagive thoughts, bad thoughts, and lies. Satan is the Father of all lies.
"You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it."
(John 8:44 NKJV)
God wants us to think on what is of good report and true and worthy of our praise.
8 Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. 9 Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you. Philippians 4:8 NIV
This verse is what I am commiting to memory and working on very hard. If we continually think on these things - whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy-then we won't have time to think on the bad and negative.
